Through my research about codes and ciphers I realised every code system, whether a communication code system like morse code or the multisignal, multimessage facial code system, they all seem to have in common that there is a conscious, visible level and one unconscious, invisible level which can not be understood by everyone.
Facial expressions can communicate on both levels.

Related to my on going research of facial expressions I illustrated the hidden code about our emotional condition and state of mind at any given moment. Therefore I created this hand-drawn infinity pattern, visualised the 7 universal emotions which look the same on any human face no matter if with a european background, from a vastly different culture or remote tribal background.
These seven key emotions are: anger, fear, sadness, disgust, contempt, surprise and happiness.

Through my research I came across a study that shows that even our body temperature, just like facial expressions, can show our secret emotional condition. This is why I decided to use temperature sensitive materials to hide the pattern of facial expressions, just like in real life, you need to know a code system like facial expressions to reveal the hidden message underneath.
